Donna Norman, CNIB
Donna Norman has always had love for people and a desire to make a positive difference in other’s lives. She especially cares for the senior population. These passions made her a perfect person to join the staff at CNIB.

Donna has been with CNIB for the past eight years. She has spent the last two years as Regional Supervisor of Client Services for the East Region. In this position, she ensures that clients throughout the region, including Leeds and Grenville, receive the requested services and that employees are deployed to the needed areas to provide these services.

CNIB offers the possibility of a brighter future. Many of her clients come in thinking that their vision loss is the end, but with support from CNIB, they come to realize that it is a new beginning. She knows that they make a difference in people’s lives on a daily basis. “It’s one of those jobs where you get back as much as you give because you can see the difference,” Donna says.

In order to make a real difference, she knows that those with vision loss need to be given the skills to live independently. Consequently, most of their work is accomplished through one-on-one training, showing people how to function in their own homes. This type of service delivery is expensive, but it is an investment for long-term results. “I am really committed to empowering people,” say Donna. “It is really important to move forward after loss, change and hardship.”

CNIB strives to be the leader in Leeds and Grenville for providing service so people with vision loss can live independently. United Way supports CNIB in this quest by providing funding for its core support services. You can be a leader in your community, too. Take a stand and donate to United Way.
