Executive Committee
As defined by By-Law # 1 – consists of
President, Past
President, Treasurer, 1st Vice President & 2nd Vice President. This
Committee is
empowered to make emergency decisions when one needs to be made outside
the
regular meeting schedule.
Administrative Committee
Formerly the Human Resources Committee -
this
committee meets annually to develop the administration and campaign budget
for the
United Way. They also perform Job Reviews of all employees and make
recommendations to the Board of Directors regarding salary.
Marketing & Communications
This committee helps develop marketing
strategies
for the annual campaign. They are the decision makers when we select
a company to
produce our campaign materials. This committee also strategizes with
community
members regarding current trends and advises staff on the direction we
should be
moving in.
Policy & Procedures Committee
This Committee meets regarding infractions
and
violation of the United Way of Leeds and Grenville's Policies. They
also recommend
to the Board disciplinary action against agencies if required. They
have been involved
recently in the writing of By-Law # 1 as well as rewriting of all policies
and
Certificate Of Compliance.
Allocations Committee
This committee makes the funding recommendations
for all
agencies on an annual basis. They recommend placing Agencies in Multi-Year
plans
and meet with agencies throughout the year when an agency requires assistance
managing their funds. This committee is also charged with making surplus
funds
recommendations. The majority of this committee's work takes place in
May.
Business Development Committee
Formerly the Expansion Committee. This
committee helps staff identify potential companies on an annual basis
for campaign
growth opportunities.
Long Range Planning Committee
This Committee ensures that we follow
the long
range plan developed by the Board. The Long Range Committee delivers
a Report
Card to the AGM regarding our success during the year.
Innovative Technology Committee
This committee researches and maintains
new technical ideas and directions for the United Way so that
we strive to stay on top of all
changes. ie : Internet, Website, e-mail fundraising etc.
A-Team
The A-Team is comprised of members of the board and community
individuals who
act as resource trainers for the agencies under our umbrella. The A-Team
stands for
action, assessment, assurance and assistance. Agencies can contact the
A-Team for
assistance or the Board may identify an agency that could benefit from
their support
and arrange for them to visit.
