Come fall, the Thousand Islands area exhibits some of the most beautiful scenes in the country and so, United Way of Leeds & Grenville is excited to announce our upcoming 1000 Islands Boat Cruise. Sunday, October 5 is your chance to wind past stately homes, take in majestic vistas, and see the spectacular fall colours along the St. Lawrence River, all while helping out a great local cause. Made possible by a generous donation from Gananoque Boat Lines, the cruise sets sail at 4:00 pm from the Gananoque Boat Line Dock at 6 Water Street, Gananoque. The scenic three-hour tour will land at the same dock. Parking is available on-site. The state-of-the-art vessels have both open and closed decks, are fully equipped and are accessible. The funds raised will go towards United Way’s annual fundraising campaign. Campaign 2008 officially kicks off on September 11, with proceeds from each event going to support the local agencies that rely on United Way for financial support. The 1000 Islands Boat Cruise will provide you and your family the perfect opportunity to support our community while enjoying the breathtaking scenery that fills our area. Tickets are a mere $12 for adults and $7.50 for children (children under 4 are free), and includes a light supper.
