The Great St. Lawrence River Dragon Boat Race

Do you think you have what it takes to win the 9th Annual Great St. Lawrence River Dragon Boat Race? We are challenging you and your friends, family and coworkers to participate in this exciting event against other local teams from all across Leeds & Grenville!
The event sees teams of 22 crew members, including one drummer and one steersperson, race head to head against each another in heated competition. Each team is guaranteed three races throughout the day. This is a wonderful opportunity to build team spirit, no matter what your experience level.
The Great St. Lawrence River Dragon Boat Race is a very important fundraiser for United Way and The Brockville Rowing Club. The entrance fee of $500 (that’s only $20 per person) will help the United Way of Leeds & Grenville to fund its 27 agencies and over 90 programs, and The Brockville Rowing Club to provide quality equipment and transportation to its rowing programs.
In order to register:
- Each participant must sign a waiver form releasing United Way and the
Brockville Rowing Club from liability
- Each team must submit an entrance fee of $500.00
- There is a maximum of 28 crew members per team
- 8 women paddlers must be in the boat each race
The Great St. Lawrence River Dragon Boat Race will take place at St. Lawrence Park, Brockville on Saturday, June 14, 2008. The first race will begin at 10:00 a.m. sharp. The fastest team overall will be awarded the MAJOR WALSH CUP, and the INVESTOR’S CUP will be awarded to the fastest local team.
