He Shoots, He Scores!

M.P.s, Area Leaders Come Together for United Way

A group of Conservative M.P.s has challenged United Way to a friendly game of hockey in Brockville later this fall to have some fun while raising money for a good cause. The puck drops at 8:00 p.m. on Monday, December 1, 2008, at the Memorial Centre in Brockville. There will be lots of activity on and off the ice with prizes, raffles, a chuck-a-puck, and much more. A licensed reception with the players will follow the game.

The funds raised will go towards United Way’s annual fundraising campaign. Campaign 2008 officially kicked off on September 11, with proceeds from each event going to fund the many programs and services that rely on United Way for financial support. The Political Hockey Showdown will provide you and your family the perfect opportunity to support our community while enjoying a fun night out with our nation’s official winter game.

Tickets are a mere $10 for adults and $20 for a family and are available at the door or in advance at the United Way office, 42 George St., Brockville.

See you at the good ol' hockey game!
