United Way Leads Community Priority Consultations

In the fall of 2004, the United Way of Leeds and Grenville embarked on a series of community consultations across Leeds and Grenville to learn about what matters to the people who live in the United Counties. The Ontario Trillium Foundation funds this initiative based approach to priority setting.

Community leaders from across the area came together in the community where they live to discuss what their local issues and their priorities were.

The first report entitled, "How We Speak Together" was originally delivered to the United Way of Leeds and Grenville's Annual General Meeting on March 23, 2005. This report, based on statistical results, details Leeds and Grenville's top six priority issues. Within this document is a snapshot review of each of the individual communities' consultation processes, which reveals those areas issues as well.
