In May 2026, United Way Leeds & Grenville proudly continued several longstanding community programs previously operated by the Volunteer Centre of St. Lawrence-Rideau. These essential services remain available to residents across Leeds & Grenville with the same commitment to care, dignity, and community support.
Our Community Programs include:
- LEAP
- Urgent Needs Fund
- Volunteer Income Tax Program

The Community Programs office is located on the second floor at 42 George Street in Brockville.
Urgent Needs Fund
Providing financial support to households at-risk of homelessness due to poverty, who have emergency or time-sensitive urgent needs that cannot be filled by other available community supports.
Low-Income Energy Assistance Program (LEAP)
If you’re behind on your electricity or natural gas bill and face having your service disconnected, you may qualify for emergency financial help through the Low-income Energy Assistance Program (LEAP).
Community Volunteer Income Tax Program
Specially trained volunteers can help you complete your income tax and benefit return if your income is low and your tax situation is straight forward.
