United Way Leeds & Grenville (UWLG) has supported the community since 1957 raising in excess of $27 million. We maintain a strong focus on community impact ensuring the dollars entrusted to us go to the most vulnerable in Leeds & Grenville.

Giving Through Your Workplace

Giving is easiest through payroll deduction. Through your workplace, you can pledge to have an amount deducted from your pay. There’s no need to track receipts because your donation will show up on your annual T4 slip at tax time. If you are not sure if your work offers payroll deduction or if you want to sign your workplace up for payroll deduction, contact United Way.

Leadership Giving

Among the most influential people to affect change in Leeds & Grenville are the generous donors who contribute at the Leadership level, giving $1,200 or more annually. When you give a Leadership gift you are leaving your mark on Leeds & Grenville by creating lasting change. You are also setting an example to motivate others to give a similar level. You join a select group of donors who are committed to building strong, healthy communities.

Gift of Securities

Gifts of securities are the most tax-effective way to make a donation, while helping friends and neighbours in need.

Did you know that if you sell a security, you pay tax on 50% of the capital gain! However, when you donate a gift of securities to United Way Leeds & Grenville the taxable capital gain is completely eliminated and you receive a tax receipt for the full market value of the security in the amount of the closing trading price on the day United Way Leeds & Grenville receives the security.

Donor Bill of Rights


The Donor Bill of Rights was developed by the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Association of Healthcare Philanthropy, Council for Advancement and Support of Education and Giving Institute: Leading Consultants to Non-Profits and endorsed by United Way Canada.
